What is corneotherapy?

Corneotherapy is a skin care concept based on repairing the stratum corneum and therefore improving the function of the skin barrier.  The basis of corneotherapy has three core concepts – prevention, protection, and individualized care.

Corneotherapy is the concept behind Dermaviduals, a line of skin care products that includes formulations for a range of skin conditions and customizable solutions for individualized skin care.

Dermaviduals moisturizers are based on a patented technology called Derma Membrane Structure (DMS).  The DMS concept utilizes advanced penetrating agents to selectively carry active substances into all types of skin.  This serves to protect healthy skin and helps restore damaged skin to a natural balanced state.

In contrast to traditional skin care creams that use emulsifiers, Dermaviduals skin care products do not use standard oil in water (O/W), or water in oil (W/O) emulsions, but employ an advanced method that blends DMS and concentrated active agents.  These products contain ingredients that are obtained only from natural sources, such as soybean lecithin, ceramides from yeast, triglycerides from palm oil, and other substances from olives, shea butter, and avocado.

Why does Dermaviduals use nanotechnology?

Dermaviduals products with nanoparticles are specially designed to penetrate the outer layers of the skin, providing the maximum benefit of the active agents.  The nanoparticles are made from phosphatidylcholine, which is naturally found in the skin.  They are used to encapsulate active ingredients and help them penetrate the outer layer of the skin, increasing the effectiveness of the active agents. 

Our partner company in Germany has done extensive research in the fields of product formulation, skin diagnosis, anti-aging, and skin barrier repair and maintenance.  Some of our most recent publications can be found in the News section of this website.  The Science section also discusses the extensive research that goes into developing Dermaviduals products.

If the product or packaging was damaged during shipping, you can return the product within ten days to receive a replacement.  If you are not satisfied with the product, you can return it within 30 days for a refund of the price of the product.  In this case, Dermaviduals can not cover the shipping cost.  Please refer to our complete Return Policy for further details.
